Servings: 4–6
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 garlic clove, minced
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Optional: pinch of nutmeg or chili flakes
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, combine ricotta, chopped spinach, Parmesan, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and optional nutmeg or chili flakes. Mix until creamy and well combined.
Assemble the Spirals:
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread the spinach-ricotta mixture evenly over the pastry. Starting from one edge, roll the pastry tightly into a log.
Slice & Arrange:
Cut the log into 1–1.5 inch slices and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each spiral with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake:
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake spirals for 18–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or alongside a fresh salad.
Tips:
Make Ahead: Assemble spirals in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Extra Flavor: Add sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, or herbs like basil or oregano to the filling.
Crispy Finish: Brush with a little extra olive oil before baking for an even crispier texture.
Enjoy your Creamy Spinach Ricotta Puff Pastry Spirals — golden, flaky, and packed with cheesy, herby goodness!
