👩🍳 Instructions
-
Prep the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing. Stir well until all the chicken and bacon are coated and the cheese is evenly distributed.
-
Assemble the Sandwich: Spread butter evenly on one side of all four slices of sourdough bread.
-
Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, onto a cutting board.
-
Divide the chicken, bacon, and cheese mixture evenly between the two slices, piling it high.
-
Top with the remaining two slices of bread, butter-side up.
-
-
Grill: Place a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
-
Cook: Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot pan. Cook for approximately 3–4 minutes per side.
-
Press the sandwiches gently with a spatula as they cook to ensure even browning and to help the cheese melt.
-
Flip the sandwiches when the bottom slice is golden brown and crispy.
-
Continue cooking the other side until it is also golden brown and the cheese is fully melted and gooey.
-
-
Serve: Remove from the pan, slice in half (as shown in the image), and serve immediately with a side of pickles (also suggested by the photo!).
Enjoy your decadent grilled cheese!
