Golden Baked Brie with Caramelized Apples and Thyme

Golden Baked Brie with Caramelized Apples and Thyme

Ingredients

200 g wheel of Brie cheese

2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

2 tbsp unsalted butter

2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried thyme)

1 sheet puff pastry (optional, for wrapping)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving

Directions

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices and brown sugar, sautéing for 5–7 minutes until tender and caramelized. Stir in thyme and remove from heat.

Optional: Wrap Brie in puff pastry. Place Brie (wrapped or unwrapped) on a baking sheet. If using pastry, brush with beaten egg.

Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is soft and pastry is golden.

Remove from oven, top Brie with caramelized apples, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
