Fresh Fruit & Granola Yogurt Parfait
Ingredients
-
Yogurt: 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla works best).
-
Fruit: * 1 Kiwi, peeled and sliced into rounds.
-
4-5 large Strawberries, hulled and sliced vertically.
-
-
Crunch: ½ cup Honey-oat granola (with almonds or seeds for extra texture).
-
Garnish: A fresh sprig of mint and two whole strawberries.
-
Optional Sweetener: 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (if using plain yogurt).
Assembly Instructions
To get those distinct, beautiful layers seen in the photo, follow this order:
-
The Base: Place a small handful of granola at the very bottom of a tall glass.
-
Kiwi Layer: Press the kiwi slices firmly against the inside of the glass. Spoon a small amount of yogurt behind them to hold them in place.
-
Creamy Middle: Add a thick layer of yogurt over the kiwi.
-
Strawberry Layer: Arrange sliced strawberries vertically against the glass (pointing upward) and fill the center with more yogurt.
-
Granola Crown: Add a generous layer of granola on top of the yogurt, allowing it to spill slightly over the edges.
-
The Topping: Finish with a final dollop of yogurt, the two whole strawberries, and the fresh mint sprig for that “café-style” look.
Tips for the Perfect Parfait
-
Texture: If you aren’t eating it immediately, keep the granola separate until the last second so it stays crunchy.
-
Flavor Boost: Stir a pinch of lemon zest into the yogurt to make the fruit flavors “pop.”
-
Uniformity: Try to slice your fruit to a consistent thickness ($approx$ 3-5mm) so they sit flat against the glass.
