Creamy Peach & Lime Smoothie
Ingredients
For the Smoothie Base:
-
1 ½ cups peach chunks (fresh, frozen, or canned in juice)
-
2 cups peach nectar or juice (no sugar added preferred)
-
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
-
1 cup milk (coconut milk adds a tropical touch, but regular or almond milk works well)
-
1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen; frozen creates a thicker, milkshake-like texture)
For the Zest & Flavor:
-
Zest of 1 lime
-
Juice of 1 fresh lime
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Optional: 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup if extra sweetness is needed
Preparation Instructions
-
Prep the Fruit: If using fresh peaches, wash and chop them into manageable chunks. While peeling is optional for some blenders, removing the skin ensures the smoothest possible texture.
-
Order of Ingredients: Add your liquids (peach nectar and milk) to the blender first, followed by the yogurt, banana, and finally the peach chunks. This helps the blender create a “vortex” for more efficient mixing.
-
Blend: Add the lime juice, half of the lime zest, and vanilla extract. Blend on high for about 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
-
Assemble & Garnish: Pour into tall glasses. To recreate the look in the image, top with a small handful of fresh, finely diced peach chunks and a sprinkle of the remaining fresh lime zest.
Expert Tips for Success
-
Texture Control: If the smoothie is too thin, add a few ice cubes or more frozen fruit. If it is too thick, add an extra splash of peach juice or milk.
-
Zesting: Always zest the lime before juicing it, as it is much easier to grate the skin of a firm, whole fruit.
-
Serving: Use a wide smoothie straw to easily enjoy the fresh peach chunks topped on the drink.
